Movies are visual, no doubt. The first stages of cinema were silent, as the lovely Louise Brooks reminds me. So controversy arises: A film about French author Alexandre Dumas comes about and a white actor ( Gerard Depardieu) was chosen to portray the novelist, who was of African origin.
After I read this headline I thought that maybe the people against this desicion are right, but then I kept reading, the actor darkend his skin and used a wig..hmmm....well, I loved him Jean de Florrete and if cinema is visual, maybe it all depends on the make up artist....
